Instagram Australia introduces adverts

Instagram Australia last week became the third country after Britain and the US to roll out in feed advertisements. 

Vegemite, Toyota and McDonalds are amongst the first to sign up to the Facebook owned photo-sharing app.

Sponsored photos and videos will appear in users feeds marked as sponsored content but designed to have the look and feel of organic content.


When Instagram launched adverts to its US audience just over a year ago it announced,

“Our aim is to make any advertisements you see feel as natural to Instagram as the photos and videos many of you already enjoy from your favorite brands.”

To ensure this happens all adverts must be approved by a central global process to maintain the Instagram user’s experience.

With 4 million users in Australia advertisers are sure to want to get on board with advertising on Intagram
