Apple retailer Yoobee launched their Facebook page to set themselves up for the launch of an upcoming ecommerce site. With no easy way of building on their low fan count, they were stuck, and needed our help.
To kick-start Facebook fan growth, we dreamed up the Yoobee 12 Days of Christmas competition, with a prize drawn on each of the twelve days leading up to Christmas. The prizes were attractive – iPads, headphones, iPhone accessories, and even a flying droid.
Our plan was so successful that Facebook fan numbers went from 200 to over 12,000 in just six weeks. The campaign attracted almost 700,000 impressions, reached over 410,000 individual users and had more than 7,000 people actively talking about it.
Yoobee’s old email marketing system was slow and expensive, with a poor engagement rate. With some strategic planning and a few design tweaks, we revitalised the system and executed it across a series of eDMs to gather data.
Results were dramatic – open rates improved, while click-through rates (CTR) shot up by 250%. Customers were going through to the website in large numbers, and making purchases.
